In Alsace Ponit Blanc wines are almost always mixtures of Pinot Blanc and Auxrois. The top Alsace Pinot Blancs are generally light, simple and refreshing tasting of baked apple and light in texture. It is planted in fertile soils of the planes. Widely used in sparking wines and often also blended with Sylvanner.

Classic Grüner Veltliner wines show citrus aromas (lemon peel and grapefruit) complemented by stone fruit and fresh vegetal notes and the variety's trademark hint of white pepper. But within this there are two key styles of Grüner Veltliner wine. The first – lighter, fresher and focused on minerality and citrus character – is typical of Weinviertel. The wine often bottled with a slight spritz, to lift the wine and emphasize its fresh, fruity notes.

Grüner means "green", which neatly reflects both the variety's yellow-green berries and the fresh green-pepper character that typifies Grüner Veltliner wine. Late ripening

Alsace is noted for their Gewurztraminer. Gewurztraminer is not widely planted in Germany. Pfalz is where you will find it.

Pflaz is the 2nd largest growing region in Germany as well as the driest of German wine regions. The Pflaz is also considered among the most exciting and inventive wine regions in Germany. Wine makers make wine from more different types of grapes than winemakers anywhere else in Germany.
There is also a wide versatility in soil types. Instead of rivers being a dominate influence, the Haardt mountains play the most important role by protecting the vineyards. This wine region has a more southern location so grapes fully ripen. The wines have a more creamy acidity with great fruit ripeness.

(Gewürztraminer in German-language areas) is a pink-skinned grape variety that produces some of the world's most distinctive aromatic wines. Its perfumed style is somewhat polarizing; fans adore its intense floral scent and sweet-spice flavors, while detractors lament its low acidity and lack of subtlety.

In terms of both quality and quantity, Pfalz is one of Germany's most important regions, and one which shows great promise for the future. An increasing proportion of Germany's finest Riesling and Pinot Noir(Spätburgunder) come from Pfalz vineyards, and the region generates more everyday Landwein

The Nahe wine region lies between the Mosel and the Rheinhessen with the best vineyards along the River Nahe. The vineyards are on steep south facing slopes. Rieslings are made in a style between that of Mosel and the fuller bodied wines of Rheingau, Rheinhessen and Pflaz. Still a high acidity but with slightly riper fruit character.
Weingut means winemaker.

intense, minerally white wines with green apple characters are most commonly associated with the Savennieres appellation of the former, while dry and semi-dry Vouvray wines of the latter are a little more tropical and honeyed in character.
Vouvray is the most famous and most respected appellation of the Loire Valley's Touraine district. The title covers white wines of various styles (sweet, dry, still and sparkling), from eight villages around the medieval town of Vouvray, on the northern banks of the Loire.
In their youth Vouvrays are characterized by aromas of acacia blossom, quince and green apples. Over time these evolve into tertiary aromas of honeysuckle, quince and lanolin. Much top Vouvray is unapproachable and unforgiving (not to mention unapologetic) in the first few years of its life, and only begins to open up and relax into drinkable maturity after five years or so.
