Exploring Malbec

To be honest this exploration of Malbec was disappointing. I came away with a more negative view of this varietal and Malbec in general. The price range for these wines ranged from $9.00 to $25.00. I would like to taste some higher end Malbec wines before totally writing off this varietal.  I have a few more wines to taste.

The color is medium garnet. The aroma is medium in intensity with dark cherry, eucalyptus and vanilla. The wine is dry with medium acidity, medium tannin, flavor finish and body. I thought the tannin overpowered the flavors.  The fruit flavors were subtle leaning toward dark cherry.
